It's tough for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was underway.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

When she was out her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

In recent days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.
